Actually it wasn't displaying as it should before.
Now it's rounded by 1000 (k = 1000).

Btw, and a bit off topic!
But is it normal/common to write it as "$1.00 CAD" ?
Isn't it more common to write "C $1.00" and t.ex. "US $1.00" as eBay and other big marketplaces/shops do?

The K/k comes from the Latin script letter (kay) from what I have learned. And I believe Latin is quite international.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot and mixed up the most important part ... the actual meaning and use is coming from Greek khilioi, meaning thousand. Also it has become more common with the computers, and need for shortening displays.

Most people isn't much aware of it though, and I had to look it up closer myself to be sure a few days ago - regarding big K vs. small k vs. single apostrophe.

Anyhow there is no way it's room for the full numbers, including decimals etc. in several displays like in the sales widget, so maybe we should add the suffixes to main language file, and leave it to the translators to figure out what letter or sign they prefer for their language? Then the store owner also can use the override to change ...

From finance world, the Roman M and MM numerals probably is more correct to use.

M = Thousand
MM = Million (one thousand thousands)

Non finance people probably don't know this though, and think million when seeing the M ...

I think we should just add the suffixes to the locale section in the main language file:
