Could we get rid of the damn exclamation mark (!)? Is it really normal to use it the way it's used in the English language files?
For most other languages it doesn't fit to well I guess, and Crowdin is nagging about it on every save - and also adds it to the TM even if it's not used in the translations at all (it's replacing the used dot in proposals).

T.ex:
$_['error_permission'] = 'Warning: You do not have permission to perform the selected action!';
->
$_['error_permission'] = 'Warning: You do not have permission to perform the selected action.';

    So then you get the nagging from Crowdin about the missing exclamation mark to, and using dot instead in English would solve it (using nothing would be wrong). :)

    Well, all messages in German are displayed without any closing 'anything'.
    Why should the texts have one?
    But can have a dot if this is a common wish.

    Because it's a language rule, for most languages. Same way as when you write a sentence her, you close it with a dot in most cases. :)
