Could a shipping extension be added where we can edit the shipping method name, and enter a flat rate, and be able to create multiple of the same but different titles.
In our old store we have this ability and we offer free shipping to 2 specific cities.
They look like:
Free Shipping - Pembroke (requirements: within 50km of store and cart total over $200)
Free Shipping - Ottawa (requirements: within 40km of store and cart total over $200)
Secondly,
When a new customer goes through the registration process, and we have Canada Post and Pickup at Store, or on another site, Fedex and Pick Up in Store, after step 1 of registration, Pick Up in Store will only appear until the postal code is entered and Pickup in Store is automatically selected as a default. After the Postal code is entered, all other shipping modules begin to appear with shipping quotes, but the Pick Up in Store is still selected as a default.
Could the cart be changed somehow to have no shipping method selected, and if the person hits Continue, and error pops up telling them to select a shipping method first before continuing? I just see people hitting continue before changing the shipping method and incorrectly placing orders with the wrong method.
