Product Status Issue?

So I am wondering if there is a glitch.

I have a product which has "Quantity" set to 0 and Out of stock status set to "Out of Stock".
I had "Out of Stock" set for no pre-orders.

Doing a test transaction, I am still able to make the purchase.
No halting the transaction because the items is unavailable.

Have I missed a step or is this a glitch?

Ok - so I found my problem.
I must of changed the settings in the general store settings to allow customers to make the purchase with no warning appearing.
Once I changed it back it works fine and blocks the order.
The reply is currently minimized Show
