Because my logo is squarish and I don't want to make it smaller I would like to move the search and cart buttons to center in the header space. Is that possible? If so, how?

i deleted the search will hopefully add it to right side of menu bar later,
for now i can't move the cart button

i am aiming for logo left and cart right with open space in between

the header.tpl is not making any changes when i make changes to "col-sm-12",
which i thought was the way to move the cart or logo horizontally on the page

    hmmm......

    thank-you for that ahmet

it really should be added to the 'how to' file linked above

frustrating until you find this simple fix,
i thought i had erred somewhere in the process

It works if I copy that, thanks. I don't think copying that file is part of the instructions on the referred page.

I followed the instructions and the new theme does not get 'advanced' tick box in customiser, limiting its use. And the changes in the default theme (like menu colour and font changes etc) do not stay when the custom theme is selected.

Daniel, you can override the output as you wish:

    https://arastta.org/docs/developers/override-system

    The file is: template/common/header.tpl
