error when trying to install extensions

Hi,

I have tried to install a couple of extensions and in each case it fails with the message "Unexpected end of JSON input". This is the same whether I upload a .zip file or install through the marketplace. I have opened the .zip file and examined the install.json file and it looks fine.

I'm using Arastta 1.6.1 and the extensions I've tried to install are the Stripe payment extension & the 'Most Viewed' extension.

Does anyone have any idea why the installation fails?

    Crappy hosting? Both installs just fine in my test site.

    We had the same issues when we started and likely you have to enable something on the server to get it to work.

    Hi Martin,

    Try XAMP or LAMP or try a different hosted server. If this proves successful then move the working files and the associated database to the server you are having issues.
