Where do you find the area to edit the 4 buttons in the top left.
Facebook, Twitter, etc.
We only use Facebook so probably going to eliminate the other 3.
Looked through Appearance section but didn't find it.

In the themes setting, assuming you use Second.

i too am trying to get rid of the social buttons (i am not on any of those social things, so too me they do not need to be there)

but i am getting an error when i try to adjust theme settings, when i try to open the themes window i get an error
it is an error on line 114 of theme.php

but i do not understand what the actual error is, let alone how to rectify it

Did you try to remove one at a time?
Just wondering if it allows to to remove some and error if you remove the last one.
I only have Facebook showing as it's the only one we have.

Also, maybe try changing themes and remove them all and see if you get the same error.
    Might be just theme related.

Just a couple things to test out.

thank you Breck for the replies

i edited my original post to clarify the problem,
i can't even open the themes to edit them

    edit:
i was looking through the extensions and when i tried to open page 3 i got another error
this time a ContextErrorException in extension.php line 303: Notice: Undefined index: version

    something is amiss

when i was going through the suggested read/write permissions i wonder if i changed the wrong .php,
there are so many in there (i have 3 sites in the account)
i may not find which one it was and change the wrong one again

    on a side note,
is there a reason why every cart needs you to go in and change all these things instead of having them defaulted properly?

It's just a notice blocking you, partly related to server, so turn of the 'Display Errors': https://arastta.org/docs/user-manual/system/settings/server
Error display should not be active in production, only for developing/debugging purposes - and then you better use logging anyway.

Maybe because properly is relative ...

Btw! Properly also means not messing up things with several installs in one domain / web folder.

    ;)

with 'properly' i only meant defaulted to its preferred running state,
i figured it was to smooth out the initial install, but i was not sure so i thought i would ask
    no offense intended

i have one main domain and then two sub-domains with single installs on each,
so when i open file manager there is quite the list with many similar files and the trees get quite long so i may have lost track of what was where

i think i will do a fresh install, because i am sure i did change one index.php that was not in the arastta folder

the link you provided resolved the error pages

    thanks for the help

    OK, good.

Sounds like a cleanup and reinstall might be wise, and this time, don't upload multiple system to the same folder. Use sub folders for sub domain, or even better, separate them completely by making a new web root for each to increase security. And give the folders proper naming, so they are easy to spot - t.ex.:

    puclic_html (default one, main domain)
    public_html_domain2.tld
    public_html_sudomain1.domain1.tld
    public_html_sudomain2.domain1.tld
