I am using the customizer, and I can change the menu background color and everything looks good but after I save and load the page the changes don't show. Go back into the customizer and the changes that I made aren't there. Appears to only be happening with the menu bar and footer.
Also can't seem to find where to change the color for the "cart total" in the header or the main titles (i.e. Featured).

Arastta tries to create a customizer.css file in the following folder after you hit the Save button:
catalog/view/theme/second/stylesheet
From your sayings, I understand that it's not able to create such a file, which is generally caused by file/folder permissions. I would suggest to change the CHMOD and try again.
