We thought that the customer wish list may be a possible solution? If you create a test customer for yourself and then login and add to your wish list. The customer can then quickly and easily add each item to the cart quite quickly. If there are still too many add to cart iterations you would have to modify the core module to suit your needs.

Also, the new version of Opencart seems to now cater for this natively, so you could have a look at this too:-

There may be an Opencart 2.x module extension you could use if the cross compatibility is correct or if not it wouldn't take too long to convert it.

There is recurring orders but haven't played with that yet. Might be an option.
